What To Consider When Buying Office Projectors

Office projectors are a bit of a different breed from those used in home cinema, or at least they have been until very recently. Now, there has been a significant narrowing of the gap between the technologies used in the two fields. The LCD technology, which has typically been used in offices and only in budget versions of a home cinema, now has vastly improved picture quality making it more usable for home cinema. The DLP technology, which has traditionally been used in high end cinema systems, has now fallen in price making it practical for use in the office.

Another development which is helping to improve the quality of office projections is the increase in the number of screen resolution pixels. The old SVGA models are now being phased out, as the vastly superior XGA falls in price to where there is virtually no difference. XGA is now the standard for projectors used in business and education, and this is certainly what you should be buying when you pick up your next projector.

The power of the bulb is one of the most controversial issues in the projector industry, and it is an area where you need to take a great deal of care. In a home cinema situation, you want to try to make the environment as dark as possible to allow for the lowest possible use of bulb power. In an office, there is going to be no opportunity to do the same thing. However, light should be kept to a minimum, and should be reduced around the screen if possible. If you have too bright a bulb, you can create an unwanted glare from the screen itself, especially if that has a gloss finish.

Mounting office projectors is something which is rarely done, as they are usually needed in more than one room. If, however, you can set up a dedicated room so that you can use your projector in there alone, you can derive several benefits. Firstly and most obviously, you reduce the safety risks to a far lower level, and reduce the risk of the equipment being damaged. You also create a better angle for a display at a comfortable height, and make it easier to position more people in the room.

It is now possible to get fully portable compact office projectors, which are ideal to use in conjunction with netbook computers. This combination will give you the lightest and most portable way of projecting your data and video content onto any screen or wall that you choose. If you are looking to give presentations in many different places, this is definitely the way to go. You will still need to adjust the light in each room to the optimum level to get the best results from these new office projectors.

Review: Panasonic AE7000 3D HD Projector
When it comes to Televisions, size definitely matters. A TV's screen size is perhaps its most frequently quoted spec (even if only for bragging rights). LCD and Plasma TVs are great, but the one thing that projectors have over both is their sheer screen size. Forget about mere inches - with a projector, we're talking metres ...
